Greetings From Beacons!

Often a cider-sodden bone of contention, we don’t sit on the fence when it comes to Festivals – we bloody love them! Reveling in them in all their gin-swigging, port-a-loo glory, we were fortunate enough to be invited to what is one of our favourite smaller events, Beacons Festival.

Set in the idyllic Yorkshire moors, Beacons is but a fledgling compared to those stalwarts of the summer calendar. That said, just like David & Goliath, bigger isn’t necessarily better; great bands, good grub and an atmosphere  that is practically electric (literally: see neon sign above) make for a festival that’s not only memorable (well, semi-memorable at least – bloody ale tent!) but leaves you  crying into your tent bag at the thought of having to leave.

Always on the hunt for the sartorial, one thing we love about festivals is the fashion fix; gone is the world of GHDs and preening and instead comes a feral sort of confidence, all bindhis and plumage and just not giving a sh*t. Forever on the prowl for an outfit or two, here’s our pick of the crop…

And there we have it. Sleeping bags aired. Tents packed down. ‘Missing’ posters for our dignity plastered all over the town. Roll on next year!

Did you go to Beacons? Let us know below!

Leeds Affordable Vintage Fair: Yorkshire, we’re coming HOME!

Greetings vintage fans,

Whether it’s a proper cup of tea or walks in the country, we admit that there’s nothing like coming home! [crikey, we sound like a borderline advert for ‘Bisto!’] This Saturday, we get to do just that, returning with Leeds Affordable Vintage Fair, a FREE day of vintage revelry in the stunning Corn Exchange.

Since our beginnings eight years ago, so much has changed! Facebook has taken over the world, Justin Bieber appeared [we think he appeared fully-formed at Usher’s knee, ready to insight a kind of madness that makes us want to hide under a stone] and Gangnam became a ‘style’ [Note: still not sure what that is] That said, some things never change, such as the immutable beauty of The Corn Exchange! With it’s celestial shell letting in the lovely Leeds sky, we can’t wait to head back on Saturday! [here it is during the 1960s, filled to the brim with activity!]

For any of you kicking about Yorkshire this weekend, check out the details of our Leeds fair HERE.

Au revoir vintage fans [and have a good weekend!]
